Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi

Oni heuir ni fedir

Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi's name was heard regularly from the main stage at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Caerphilly, with pupils' dancing, musical, cooking and reciting talents being acclaimed.  Years 7-9 creative dancing group won first prize on Wednesday with their interpretation of poetry dedicated to Glamorgan (Tribanau Morgannwg).  On Thursday, Megan Teleri Davies (Year 9) won third prize for her piano playing in the Years 7-9 Piano solo competition.  Megan was also the accompanist for some of Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi's singing parties and choirs.  Another individual who performed well on Thursday was Manon Edwards (Year 10) who won second prize for her culinary skills in the senior pupils' Cogurdd competition. The junior choir won third prize for its rendition of 'Morgannwg', whilst the Year 7-9 Girls' Party's performance of 'Does dim a all ein dal ni yn ôl', was deemed the best in the Eisteddfod, thus winning first prize.  First prize was also won by the Senior Recitation Party on Friday, for its interpretation of Mererid Hopwood's poem 'Dim Cyffwrdd' recounting a visit to an art gallery.  The senior boys' singing group's set piece was a Christmas song - 'Un Seren' and the boys came seccond in a very strong and close competition.  We extend our congratulations to all the competitors and their instructors for doing so well and for adding a number of medals to Ceredigion's winning score.
